About Us

Astrid Katzur is a Registered Clinical Psychologist, who has worked for over 30 years in New Zealand, Australia and Germany.

Most recently her area of expertise has been in the treatment of Trauma and in the field of Addictions.  Before that she has been working in Forensic and Correction settings, Relationship Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and in General Private Practice, providing Employment Assistance Services, Critical Incident Debriefings and Family court reports.

 

After finishing her academic training in her native Germany, Astrid has extensively trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) and is now an accredited EMDR Institute Trainer, EMDR Europe Consultant, a Facilitator for the EMDR-Institute (Germany) and a Trainer of the Recent-Trauma Episode Protocol & Group - Trauma Episode Protocol.

She is also an intensively trained Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) clinician and has completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Sexual Dysfunction.  She is a founding member and past chairperson of the EMDRNZ association, which aims to promote and support the professional application of Eye Movement and Desensitization Therapy.

​​Dr Allister Bush is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist working in the Māori CAMHS and Pasifika CAMHS services in Porirua.

He is an accredited EMDR case consultant with EMDR NZ, has completed EMDR Institute Facilitator training and with the support of EMDR NZ has participated in Child Trainer Training with EMDR Europe. 

He is interested in bicultural clinical practice and is a co-author of a book documenting a collaboration between Māori healing and psychiatry.
