What is EMDR Therapy NZ

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is one of 2 treatments recommended by the World Health Organisation for the treatment of trauma related problems such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Its discovery in 1989 by Dr Francine Shapiro transformed the treatment landscape for PTSD.

Since then, research has show that  EMDR can also be used for wider set of mental health conditions, like depression, anxiety, panic disorder, chronic pain and many more.

It is basically used for any current difficulty that are caused by memories have been stored with residual cognitive, emotional and somatic disturbance.

The EMDR Institute Basic Training has been accredited training by the EMDR New Zealand Association
